Tamoxifen is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) from the triphenylethylene group. It acts as an estrogen antagonist in most tissues (breast, hypothalamus, pituitary) while exhibiting partial agonist activity in others, such as bone tissue, helping preserve bone density.
